P01 INCYBER Opening Summit :Rebuilding trust
Climate change,
geopolitical instability, cybersecurity, and the challenges posed AI and big data: these four issues dominate business concerns, according to Axa’s 2024 «FutureRisks Report.»
This sense of global vulnerability, shared by public opinion and all economic stakeholders, reflects a growing risk aversion in our societies.
The emergence of a complex transactional world, where relationships are increasingly governed by rules and compliance standards, combined with the rise of technologies and the growing legal scrutiny of exchanges, intensifies
the intolerance for unpredictability. However, this sense of vulnerability is also symptomatic of a global «polycrisis.» The combination of geopolitical instability and our growing dependence on digital systems generates systemic risks with unpredictable, interdependent effects that impact all layers of the cyber domain: physical infrastructure, data, and even public opinion due to the significant influence of social networks.
Responses to these challenges are varied: political, industrial, technological, legal, insurance- based, and more. But above all, they require a coordinated and collective approach, which is a challenge in an increasingly fragmented
world. Does a multipolar world necessarily mean a fragmented one, especially in the digital realm? How can we manage the tensions surrounding
the AI race? How can we reconcile risk management with innovation? How can we combat disinformation and misinformation that erode collective trust? Ultimately, how can we restore trust—the key to economic prosperity, the foundation of social relationships, and the driving force of our democracies?
