TR07 T&S Defending the Defenders The Convergence of Cyberattacks and Disinformation Against EU Trus

As civil society organizations (CSOs) fight for human rights, democracy, and vulnerable communities, they face an increasing wave of cyberattacks, disinformation, and digital threats—while also contending with growing financial pressures that limit their ability to respond. Budget constraints and funding cuts have made it harder for many organizations to invest in cybersecurity, intelligence-sharing, and resilience, leaving them more vulnerable to emerging threats. The EU Trusted Flagger community is no exception.
This panel will explore the evolving threat landscape targeting EU Trusted Flaggers and propose solutions. Experts from across the cybersecurity, policy, LEA, and trust & safety communities will discuss short-term responses and long-term strategies. The discussion will examine how to collect and analyze data to document threats and the harm they cause, enhance intelligence-sharing within the community, and inform EU Trusted Flaggers on how to protect themselves.
