TR18 INCYBER Multilayered protection against DDoS attacks

DDoS attacks are the preferred tool of hacktivists. However, because they are generally “less sophisti- cated,” the threat they pose is often underestimated. Depending on their duration, intensity, and the af- fected service, their impact can be massive on both the network and application layers. Implementing multilayered defenses that combine different types of technologies (network traffic monitoring, mali- cious traffic filtering and blocking, rate limiting, intelligent routing, etc.) is therefore essential. Continuity and disaster recovery plans must also be in place to prepare for the worst. We need to examine defense strategies aimed at enhancing the resilience of our networks and information systems while ensuring that continuity and recovery plans are also established to handle potential crises.
